Mercury Comets on the Track and Strip

A note from your Webmaster:
Growing up in the Southern United States in the 1960's and 1970's, automobile racing was
simply part of the culture. My AM Radio would blast, SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY !!.
My family home was less then three mile from Charlotte Motor Speedway. And my Father took
me to my first Grand National race when I was eight. Racing was everywhere.
Ford Motor Company along with the other's of the Big Three recognised that racing could be
used as a sales tool, and went racing to promote their products. "Win on Sunday, Sale on
Monday" These pages are a reflection of a time gone by. Enjoy..I did..

For the 1966/67 season. NASCAR allowed mid-size cars to race with the full size cars. Bud Moore Engineering built and fielded Comets to race these years.
